Oshay Jackson, a youtuber who touches on controversial topics for clout, is becoming more known for his anti-African rhetoric on his Kenganda channel which he acknowledges from time to time, a path he hopped onto ever since the coon culture of a section of African Americans began with the notion of them conforming and accepting the properties of the American government. Many African Americans who would blog about their great experiences in Africa began to change their tone out of fear of being chastised by their African American audience. This included coons like ‘Go Black2Africa,’ Phill Scott, and Oshay Jackson of Kenganda.
WHO IS OSHAY JACKSON
Oshay Jackson is an African American commentator with a janky hairline, who resides in Kenya, has consistently demonstrated anti-African sentiments. He conveys an attitude that Africans should roll out the red carpet for people like him, simply because he was born in America. Despite his recent shift in tone and indirect attacks of African people, including those in East Africa, Oshay has never used his platform to challenge the oppressive regime of William Ruto, a government Kenyans have been resisting for over half a year.
More recently, the Kenyan government has been involved in a series of abductions of its citizens, yet the cowardly Oshay Jackson opts to host podcasts criticizing African nations while enjoying the privileges afforded to him in Kenya. His channel, Kenganda—a combination of Kenya and Uganda—has also remained conspicuously silent on the oppressive acts of Museveni’s government, where freedom fighters are often arrested on sight without the opportunity to protest.
Strangely, this self-proclaimed ‘FBA’ commentator, who hides behind a microphone and indirectly attacks African people with his irrelevant opinions, has no issue exploiting cheap labor in Kenya while avoiding hiring from his own “lineage” in America, which he frequently brags about. Now that we have a better understanding of this peculiar figure, let us delve into his current issues with Dr. Umar Johnson and Ghana.
WHY OSHAY ENVIES DR UMAR
Dr. Umar Johnson has faced persistent questions regarding the long-awaited opening of his school. Over a decade ago, he raised oney for a school, but the absence due to let down and unexpected difficulties left some donors disgruntled. This controversy faded after 2016 but resurfaced in recent years as Dr. Umar got more popular and began announcing opening dates, many of which he missed. Despite this, his work on community projects, public speeches, and viral podcast appearances have earned him significant admiration and elevated his status as a prominent Pan-African voice.
Dr. Umar’s school controversy predates the prominence of Africans on social media. His recent remarks have garnered him widespread admiration across the continent, cementing his reputation as a global advocate for Pan-Africanism. Few Africans were familiar with him during his early fundraising days, but his current influence is undeniable.
Love him or hate him, Dr. Umar’s notoriety for his wisdom and supported viewpoints has made him a global icon. This reality unsettles well with commentators like Oshay Jackson, who rely on attacking others or commenting on viral issues to maintain relevance.
Dr. Umar’s message of global unity among Africans is diametrically opposed to the ideology of the FBA cult. While Umar promotes solidarity, FBA adherents like Oshay Jackson believe they are of a superior lineage of Black people. It is no surprise, then, that Oshay feels compelled to attack Umar whenever his reputation gets a boost and public recognition of his efforts surfaces.
OSHAY INSULTS AFRICA & CALLS GHANA SCAMMERS
Recently, the podcast clown Oshay Jackson decided it was in his right to label Ghana a “scam country” for granting Dr. Umar citizenship. Are there legitimate questions about the procedural fairness of this decision? Perhaps. However, stooping to insult an entire nation while ignoring the atrocities in Kenya exposes Oshay’s hypocrisy. Last year, he criticized immigrants in the United States for failing to align with African American struggles. Perhaps it is time for Kenyans to scrutinize his role in their country as he continues to ignore using his platform to denounce the killing and abductions of Kenyans.
Yes, Oshay Jackson, Dr. Umar was granted citizenship because of his popularity. In modern times, individuals like him are referred to as influencers. For example, when Gucci launches new outfits, they gift them to influencers like Cardi B or the Kardashians because of their clout. Clout—a currency you lack unless you attack others or latch onto controversial topics.
Would you call every company that offers free services to influencers scammers? Pizza, clothes, or travel tickets? Yet, you had the audacity to label an entire nation as such, despite their government being the entity behind the act.
It is not only time for Kenyans to check this coward. In the U.S., African American Robert Brookes was beaten to death in prison, and Rayvon Shahid was shot in the head. Meanwhile, Oshay Jackson fixates on Dr. Umar’s passport with not a care in the world about these African Americans.
OSHAY JACKSON BUILT A CHANNEL TO FOCUS ON DISCRIMINATING AFRICANS WHILST EXPLOITING CHEAP LABOUR
Oshay Jackson constantly repeats stories of some traumas that African Americans have had in different parts of the world, in this case namely Ghana, with the mindset that the people of Ghana are supposed to roll the red carpet for them. Newsflash: every incident you have complained about is a normal experience for other nationalities, even the citizens themselves.
Oshay frequently revisits traumatic experiences African Americans have endured in different parts of the world, including Ghana, with an expectation that Ghanaians should roll out the red carpet for them. Newsflash: incidents you complain about are experiences many nationalities, including the Ghanaian citizens, endure also. Oshay tries to push the narrative as though African Americans are targeted because Ghanaians have a disdain for them.
What Oshay avoids discussing are the diaspora members who have thrived in Ghana and the 100s of African Americans recieving citizenship. Instead, he criticizes the nation’s efforts to attract diaspora investment. Figures like him, operating under the FBA banner, exploit Africa’s poverty while cherry-picking the fruits of the U.S. system. The notion that diasporans can gain more for doing less while benefiting Ghana strikes Oshay as a scam, simply because he cannot distinguish between investment and charity.
WHY IS OSHAY JACKSON IN AFRICA?
With a heart of jealously, consistently proving to be no good to Africa by sitting on a mic and pointing fingers, and turning a blind eye to the plight of Kenya and Uganda, it seems Oshay Jackson has overstayed his welcome in Africa, and East Africans need to share this experience with him.
