The Pan-African Parliament, established in 2004 as the legislative body of the African Union (AU), has often struggled to inspire confidence among Pan-Africans. Many feel disillusioned with its impact and the broader AU. However, the EFF’s rising influence in South Africa has sparked optimism, and with Vuyani Pambo now a member, some see hope for renewed vigor within the organization.
The EFF, founded by Julius Malema in 2013, follows a Marxist–Leninist and pan-Africanist ideology, advocating for socio-economic change. Pambo’s presence in the Pan-African Parliament may signal new energy for the institution in the eyes of Pan-Africanists looking for real progress.
